Forum Rules
Art of War Code of Conduct

I. Introduction:

Part of the design of the AoW includes an assumption that members are willing to role-play a bit. Without doing so, the ranking system won't work as well and the different communication protocols will make little sense. Obviously we don?t want you to end every sentence with yes sir and no sir and your CO(s) isn't going to tell you to drop and give him twenty. At the same time, part of the fun with this type of community is pretending to really be in the Chromehounds Universe. The following conduct requirements will focus on establishing and facilitating such an environment.

II. Vision:

The immediate goal of this Clan is to be the best clan in Chromehounds from day one. The projected goal is for the clan to also dominate the battlefield in future squad-based action games for the Xbox 360.

Above all, the AoW should be a fun community founded on the mutual respect for all members.

III. Behavior of Clan Members:

A. Towards Fellow Clan Members:

1. Cursing at, speaking derogatively towards or any other form of putting
down a fellow clan member, on a recurring basis, will not be tolerated.

2. Acting in a disruptive manner during clan practices and other events, spamming constantly on the clan forums, or making inappropriate comments on a regular basis will not be tolerated.

3. Telling other members that they "suck" at something, or insisting that you are superior to them in someway, whether it's true or not, will not be tolerated.

4. Clan members should constantly strive to help fellow members discover their strengths rather than bringing their weaknesses to light.

B. Towards Superior Officers:

1. All behavior requirements from Section III(A) shall be incorporated in this section as well.

2. A Superior Officers' orders and commands should be followed in the field whether you agree with them or not.

3. Members should not show blatant disrespect for a superior in the field or otherwise.

C. Towards Non-Members:

1. Non-members should be treated with the same respect as we show to our own members, because anyone we play with must be viewed as a potential AoW member.

2. All behavior requirements from Section III(A) shall be incorporated in this section.

3. If an opposing team makes derogatory comments during or after a match, you must generally refrain from responding in a derogatory fashion. However, at a certain point their comments may cross the threshold of decency and clan members may defend AoW.

IV. Behavior of Officers:

A. Officers are expected to show the same respect for clan members as any other.

B. All behavior requirements from Section III(A) shall be incorporated in this section.

C. The role of an officer is to lead those under his command to victory in the field.

D. The specific duties of each officer may be found in the official rank structure on this site.

E. Such leadership shall not include the use of derogatory language or demeaning tactics.

F. Officers are expected to lead by example, not dictate.

G. Arrogance will not be tolerated.

V. Violations of These Provisions:

A. Reporting a Violation:

1. Members should attempt to work out any differences prior to invoking
their right to formal review.

2. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES shall members engage in activity that could be classified as "fighting" with one another on the Clan site in the forums, during battle, or at any other time.

3. If you are unable to resolve the problem between you then you may report the infraction.

B. The Reporting Process:

1. PM MitigatedFever ("Fever") with the time, place, and circumstances surrounding your disagreement with another member. You should also list any potential witnesses to the event.

2. Fever will contact your opposing party and the witnesses you?ve cited to ascertain what happened as best he can.

3. Fever will decide what action needs to be taken to right the wrong, and the final decision will be put to a vote of the Council.

4. All decisions of the Council are binding on members of the Clan.

C. Penalties:

1. If found guilty of an infraction the following actions may be taken depending on the seriousness of a party's actions:

a. Informal Reprimand (Not considered in the promotion process);

b. Formal Reprimand (Counts against the reprimanded party during the promotion process);

c. Removal from one Squad and placement in another;

d. Temporary Demotion;

e. Permanent Demotion.

2. In extremely severe cases, the member may be permanently expelled from the clan and banned from the clan site.
